Why was my utility payment denied?

Understanding what can and cannot be reported under utilities.

Your utility payment may be denied for a variety of reasons.

In order for us to report correct information onto your credit report our system will go through a verification process in order to make sure we're reporting correct data to the bureaus.

Your payment may be denied for the following reasons:
  1. The payment descriptor may not match or be applicable for utility reporting.
  2. The payment selected to be verified was not a utility transaction.
  3. The payment selected to be verified was paid from a third party processor such as: Zelle, PayPal, CashApp, Venmo etc... We DO NOT report these payment types as utilities.
  4. The service provider you requested was unable to be verified by our team as reportable to the credit bureaus. For reference, the credit bureaus will only accept recurring payments to phone service providers, electric utility companies, water utility companies, or natural gas utility companies.
