What happens to my credit if I stop using Rent+Bills?

If you cancel your Rent+Bills subscription, your existing rent and bill payment history and accounts will stay on your credit reports, but we’ll stop reporting new payments.

These accounts will show as open and in good standing, and won’t have any outstanding balances listed. Keeping these accounts on your credit reports may help by increasing the average age of your credit history, which is a major factor in your credit score.

For example

Say you use Rent+Bills for 6 months to build credit through rent payments, then you cancel your subscription. Those 6 months of payment history and your rent account will stay on your credit reports. But, we won’t report future rent payments unless you restart your Rent+Bills subscription.
